Happy Mother's Day to everyone out there! I usually am not a huge fan of Mother's Day but today I had a great day. Tyler got up before me and got the kids breakfast..a hot one at that and got Cohen ready and started the packing for church. It was so nice to have less things to do this morning. Hailee sang in Sacrament meeting and there were some great talks as well. On the way home Tyler told me I could just lay down and do nothing for the rest of the day. And that is what I did. I helped get Cohen changed and lunch though, because Tyler was busy BBQing tri-tip and making the rest of dinner. The dinner was yummy and I didn't even have to clean it up!
Both kids took naps and I laid in bed and caught up on my TIVO and some sleep. It was great. Tyler even did baths tonight. I hate doing baths lately for some reason.
Hailee picked out a cute card from her and Cohen gave me a Gift Certificate for a massage, I can't wait. Tyler gave me his gift a few days ago... my ticket to Orange County in a few weeks. We usually don't do big gifts for these Holidays so this was extra nice. He gave me a perfect Mother's Day!
My friend gave a really good talk today that I have been thinking about. She talked about how she dislikes Mother's Day because it seems like all you hear all day is how to be this perfect mother and what society thinks a mothers should do. She focused her talk on being the best mother you can and how each child you have was sent to you for a reason and we cannot compare ourselves to others. It was one of those talks that seem to be written just for you. It reminded me of a quote I heard not too long ago that says: "There is no perfect way to be a perfect mother, but a million ways to be a good one." I think that is my new favorite quote!
So all in all it was a great Mother's Day!

My Mothers Day was pretty good. After church I went to the scrapbook store to finish my presents for my mom and Bonnie and then we went over to the Hathaways for dinner and my parents for dessert. I was a little bummed that I didnt get the chance to lay around the house, especially cuz Sophi was up crying between 2-4 that morning. So it really wasn't the Mothers Day that I had planned but it wasn't a bad mothers day in all.
I love that quote too Aubree! I'm so happy that you had such a great day! Don't we have the best husbands and kids? They might do things that drive us crazy, but overall, they are totally awesome! We are so blessed!
I am tired of hearing all the bragging going on about husbands and kids and great Mother's Days! As I am awake at 4:45 and my husband is out the door at 6:00 for Bishopric stuff and my older kids never nap...j/k. I am glad you had a wonderful day and I hope you have a great week! See you soon.
Sounds like a great day. Sounds like you guys don't have to try and keep busy! Your life seems like it is full and well rounded. It is so nice to have people that you love to share a life that you love.
