Today our lease ends on my Pathfinder. The plan was to join the mini van club when my lease ended and then we began this get out of debt/savings plan. We thought it over and decided we could survive on one car for a little bit. Hopefully just till the spring. This means me taking Tyler to work (he works 2 miles way) , less room in the car, and me picking him up. On days I don't have the car I can still walk to the store, the gym, and the park. But with all the pain in the butt stuff also comes no $400 a month car payment, $70 off in car insurance and no more $80 fill-ups every 2 weeks. The BMW cost about $50 and lasts almost twice as long. These are things I try to remind myself as we set off on this new one car adventure. I am sure it will be worth it when we pay cash for our new (used) van.

I admire you guys for doing what you are doing. You will survive and be better off because of it. Please call me if you need help with rides or anything!
Wow, that is a huge sacrifice and you guys are awesome for doing it. I hope it is turns out to be easier than you think.
You guys are so smart. I know it's hard (we did it for 6 years), but it's so worth it!
Aubs, I love how honest you are on your blog. Sounds like a great decision and just keep seeing those dollar signs when times get "annoying". -AM
Yes, it will be worth it. We had one car for a long time and I had to take Alan to work and pick him up. It's really not that bad.
